Part of a Mentoring Program Focused on Marriage Migrant Women's Understanding of Korean Culture and Stable Settlement
Miryang City, Gyeongsangnam-do, is experiencing a warm winter due to increased attention toward marginalized neighbors, including marriage migrant women and multicultural families.
The Miryang Chapter Council of the Korean Red Cross announced on the 8th that it held the 'Arirang Kimjang Sharing Festival' event at the Red Cross Northern Volunteer Center in Gyo-dong on the 6th.
This event was conducted as part of the Marriage Migrant Women Settlement Mentoring Program, which is an initiative under the Gender Equality Fund project, aiming to enhance marriage migrant women's understanding of Korean culture and support their stable settlement.
On this day, a total of 90 participants, including members of the Korean Red Cross, marriage migrant women, and employees from the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Miryang Branch, Samyang Foods, and Hankuk Fiber (now SPACEPRO), prepared 200 boxes of Kimchi. These, along with 50 boxes of ramen, were delivered to 200 vulnerable households in the city.
