SPACEPRO Obtains International Railway Standards (IRIS) and Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI) Certification
SPACEPRO (formerly Hankuk Fiber) of the New Power Plasma Group, located in Bubeuk-myeon, Miryang City, Gyeongsangnam-do, announced on the 7th that it has acquired the International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) and TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) certifications as part of its efforts to leap forward as the world’s top (PRO) company for advanced composite solutions.
IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard, ISO 22163) certification is a rigorous, internationally recognized system that evaluates the quality management system and safety of the railway industry sector.
TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) is a crucial system that verifies conformity to the technical specifications for the integrated operation of railway systems among European Union (EU) member states.
In preparing for these certifications, SPACEPRO’s Eco-Mobility Headquarters received government support through the Korean Railway Association’s ‘International Certification Acquisition Support Program for Railway Products.’ This support enabled the company to improve its quality management system and enhance its execution capabilities.
Having successfully executed various projects, including domestic high-speed rail vehicles and Indian rolling stock, SPACEPRO expects the IRIS and TSI certifications to internationally validate its manufacturing capabilities for railway vehicle interior and exterior materials, toilet modules, door systems, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), along with its quality management system and technical reliability.
This achievement secures the company’s qualification to supply rolling stock to the EU region and strengthens its competitiveness in the global market by registering in the European Rail Industry Association (UNIFE) IRIS database.
A SPACEPRO official stated, “We will strive to strengthen our competitiveness in the global market and satisfy customers through our technology and quality,” adding, “These certifications will be a great help in providing excellent products and services in the global railway business sector.”
The official also revealed, “We are currently pursuing SIL4 (Safety Integrity Level) certification, the highest grade for railway system safety, and aim for sustainable technological innovation and safety enhancement in the mobility sector. We plan to prioritize customer trust and satisfaction and expand application possibilities across various industrial fields.”
