Hankuk Fiber, a subsidiary of New Power Plasma Co., Ltd., a domestic manufacturer of semiconductor and display materials and components, has initiated emergency medical support for India, which is struggling with the COVID-19 crisis.
According to Hankuk Fiber in Miryang City, Gyeongsangnam-do, on the 18th, the company announced it would gratuitously provide 25 oxygen concentrators (worth approximately 50 million Korean Won) to BEML, a public enterprise under the Indian Ministry of Defence located in Bangalore, India.
CEO Lee Jin-gwang said, "India is suffering due to the massive spread of COVID-19, and in particular, our client BEML is unable to proceed with normal operations. We hope for a prompt return to normal work and decided to provide support on humanitarian grounds."
Accordingly, Hankuk Fiber purchased the oxygen concentrators on the 17th, which were scheduled to depart via Incheon Airport on the 19th, pass through Dubai, and arrive in Bangalore on the 22nd.
An official from BEML expressed gratitude to Hankuk Fiber for the donation, stating, "The donated oxygen concentrators will be contributed to our company hospital, the BEML MEDICAL CENTER, and used for the treatment of employees and local residents."
Meanwhile, Hankuk Fiber is the top composite material specialist in Korea, growing based on its proprietary technology and excellent quality.
Regarding its rail business exported to India, the company has secured orders for over 1,000 rail vehicles since 2014, including 262 vehicles for New Delhi, 86 for Kolkata, 192 for Bangalore, and 458 for Mumbai and New Delhi.
