Comprehensive Terror Response Drill Conducted at Defense Industry Company to Enhance Civil-Military-Police-Fire Response Capabilities

Miryang City (Mayor Ahn Byung-gu) announced that it conducted the '2024 Ulchi Exercise Live Training' on the 20th at the second factory of defense industry company SPACEPRO (formerly Hankuk Fiber) located in Sangnam-myeon. 

Approximately 150 people from seven organizations and two groups, including the Miryang Police Station, Miryang Fire Station, and the 2nd Battalion of the 5870 Unit, participated.

The city explained that the purpose of the Ulchi Exercise Live Training is to protect citizens' lives and property during crisis situations, such as enemy terrorism, by having each agency familiarize itself with its missions, roles, and crisis response manual under the assumption of an actual wartime scenario.

Accordingly, this comprehensive terror response drill at the defense industry company assumed a situation where enemy special forces infiltrated the rear area to cause disruption, resulting in a fire and multiple casualties at the SpacePro 2nd factory. The drill proceeded in the following order:

• Initial Response and Terror Suppression by Military and Police

• Life-Saving and Fire Suppression by Firefighters

• Emergency Restoration Activities for Damaged Facilities by KEPCO, KT, and Miryang City

Additionally, the Miryang Fire Station conducted CPR demonstrations and hands-on training for the drill participants to ensure prompt response during emergencies.

Miryang Mayor Ahn Byung-gu stated, "This was a time to strengthen the national crisis management system and feel the importance of security once again. We will enhance practical training and the joint response capabilities of civil, military, police, and fire departments to protect Miryang citizens during security crises."

Meanwhile, Miryang City plans to conduct an air raid civil defense drill at 2 PM on the 22nd. Vehicle traffic will be controlled for 20 minutes once the air raid warning is issued, and all citizens must evacuate to the nearest civil defense shelter.
